UAS4EUROPE reacts on the European Innnovation Council

posted 11 May 2016, 05:21 by UASnet   [ updated 12 May 2016, 05:15 ]

UASnet has joined forces with four other European Universities of Applied Sciences organisations: EURASHE, Hochschule Bayern e.V, swissuniversities and the Österreichische Fachhochschul-Konferenz.

These five organisations work together under the umbrella: UAS4EUROPE.

A joint position paper will be presented on May 31st 2016 in Brussels. Robert-Jan Smits of the European Commission will receive the first copy. One of the action lines in the paper is influencing the European agenda to the benefit of European Universities of Applied Sciences. We got a first opportunity to do so due to the consultation that Moedas initiated on the European Innovation Council. Moedas stated: "I want to test the idea of creating a European Innovation Council, which could replicate for entrepreneurs what the European Research Council is doing for Europe's best researchers. Therefore I am launching a Call for Ideas so Europe's innovation community can tell us what they think an EIC could improve."

The contribution of UAS4EUROPE on this consultation can be found below this message.

We aim at more actions like these in the following year such as the midterm review of Horizon 2020 and the successor of Horizon 2020, in which we aim at a specific UAS instrument (Smart partnerships for Regional impact).

The position paper can be found on this website after the launch event on May 31st. Tim Creedon will be there and speak on behalf of UASnet.
